Tattoos in general come with a lot of stigma about the person who chooses to wear them. While traditional “I love mom” tattoos and the like are becoming more accepted, it is still a problem for many people. The treatment many people who are tattooed receive can, in many cases, be contrived as prejudice against that particular person. Treatment of this type is wrong and perhaps one day will be illegalized, but until then it will persist and cost many people jobs, home loans and the like, simply because they have chosen to adorn their bodies with ink.
With all of the problems that one may encounter after getting a tattoo many people don’t understand why they would go through with it. However, for a lot of people, it seems that there is a deeper meaning than just what they put on their skin. Whether they are devoting their lives to something or they are simply expressing something they love, there is a bond between the person and their tattoo.
Skull tattoos are often frowned upon by people that are generally accepting of other tattoos because of what some people in prison wear them for. This can create problems if someone chooses to go in and have one done after they’ve secured a position with a company. In some cases the person will be asked to cover the tattoo (thank goodness for hats) or they will be fired. Skull tattoos are still considered by many to be like facial tattoos as an extreme form of body art.
